Sydney Olympic Park Business Association
When the Sydney Olympic Park Business Association (SOPBA) was established in May 2000, the Park’s focus was on providing the best Olympics ever, in some of the newest state-of-the-art sporting venues available anywhere in the world.
Seven years down the track there are now around 90 businesses that together provide Australia with one of the most dynamic business, educational, exhibition, sporting and entertainment business precincts in the country.
SOPBA provides a common voice in dealing with key issues relating to the future of Sydney Olympic Park for businesses, big and small.
“SOPBA is always looking for ways to enhance its membership and promote the Park’s diverse range of facilities and services,” said SOPBA President, David Humphreys.
“‘Lifestyle’ is the perfect example of Sydney Olympic Park Authority (the Authority), SOPBA, Commonwealth Bank and GPT working together for the benefit of the Park, local businesses and their employees.”
SOPBA Members range from all the major sporting, entertainment, accommodation and exhibition venues in the Park, to residential and commercial developers and retailers. The Authority and Commonwealth Bank are also represented on the SOPBA board.
“’Lifestyle’ is the perfect vehicle to bring Park businesses and employees together in a win-win situation. We are delighted to be an inaugural partner in this unique program and be able to offer the employees of our members, discounted membership.” said SOPBA President, David Humphreys.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority
Sydney Olympic Park has always been an exciting place to be and now its current and future employees and residents will have the added benefits and buzz of a new and unique initiative of the Sydney Olympic Park Authority CEO Brian Newman – Lifestyle.
Lifestyle is a visionary program that ‘helps balance life and work’ and is based on a successful UK model. It has carefully considered the needs of the Sydney Olympic Park community and has been specially designed to take advantage of the distinctive environment to enhance the lives of the thousands of employees and residents who live and work around the Park.
“When I saw a similar but less comprehensive concept in operation in the United Kingdom, I felt that this was exactly the sort of program that Sydney Olympic Park was uniquely suited to support. It was then a case of putting all the elements into place to make ‘Lifestyle’ a reality,” said Brian Newman.
Lifestyle will create a rewarding work environment which will attract and retain employees, as well as investors and tenants. More importantly will be its contribution to and growth of a real sense of community within the Park precinct.
Through promotional and information tools that include a comprehensive web site and concierge service Lifestyle members will enjoy a diverse range of services, benefits and discounts from over 90 Park businesses.
